| An experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist is required to cover maternity leave for one of our team of therapists working in the North Hampshire area and Basingstoke surroundings. The caseload to be covered concentrates on children in primary mainstream schools who are diagnosed with Developmental Co-ordination Disorders and the associated difficulties they often present with. You would work as part of our Integrated Service in the community from an office base in the Acute Hospital. Management of this group is through school/home/nursery visits and assessment clinics as appropriate. You would be made most welcome as part of our team working with physio therapists/play specialists, school health nurses and other colleagues in child health. We have excellent working relationships with Education Service staff. The position offers educational and clinical support and CPD is actively encouraged with a strong programme of multi-professional in service training and development activity. The post is to help us cover maternity leave which we have in Surgery and Critical Care, Cancer services, Neurology and Elderly Care. We have a positive, proactive team of physiotherapists who work very closely with the rest of the MDT and would love to have the help of someone who is keen to develop his/ her inpatient skills with the rest of our friendly, professional team. You need to have good generic inpatient skills, be prepared to work in a variety of settings, be confident in your decision making and also be competent and able to undertake emergency on call duties. As well as providing a high standard of evidence based patient care you will have an active role to play in assisting with some service development – including audit.
